Known for its scenic mountain vistas, year-round recreation opportunities, and vibrant social scene, Red Lodge is unique – and so are its emergency response needs.
The community and surrounding area is home to about 3,500 residents, but in the summer and winter tourist seasons, visitors can outnumber residents. Our department stays busy with calls for structure fires, wildland fires, motor vehicle accidents, emergency medical calls, lost hikers, and much more.
Red Lodge Fire Rescue is made up of about 20 first responders, who are experienced, highly skilled, and well trained. They respond to about 800 calls for service a year. Volunteers are the backbone of our department. We are proud to serve the community where we live and honored to have the incredible support of our community.
Our department is made up of five career firefighters and about 35 dedicated volunteers. They serve the City of Red Lodge and the surrounding Red Lodge Rural Fire District, providing fire protection and emergency response for almost 400 square miles. More about the Fire Division…
